Mom Week Day 2: Survey About My Son

Hey Guys! Welcome to day 4 of Mom Week! Today I wanted to do a survey about Matthew! So let's get started!!

WAS YOUR PREGNANCY PLANNED?:No, my pregnancy was definitely not planned. It was a HUGE shock
WERE YOU MARRIED AT THE TIME?:
No I was not.
WHAT WERE YOUR REACTIONS?:
I was petrified! I was so so so scared! I cried, I freaked out. And then I calmed down and was so so so ridiculously EXCITED!!
WAS ABORTION AN OPTION FOR YOU?:
Never ever.
HOW OLD WERE YOU?:
I was 21 when I found out, 22 when he was born
HOW DID YOU FIND OUT YOU WERE PREGNANT?:
It is really a funny story. I had been sick for a few weeks so we went to the doctor to see why. I have been going to the same doctor for a long time, so I call him by his first name. He said he was going to get a urine sample because UTIs are a common cause of diabetic problems. So when I came back in the room I told Matt "Wouldn't it be funny if he came back in and said you're pregnant" and we laughed about it. Well two minutes later he came in and said "Well no sinus infection and no UTI but I do know what your problem is" and I said "WHAT?!?!" because at this point I knew what was about to come out of his mouth. He said "You're pregnant" and I said "That's not funny Jack".

My mom
DID YOU WANT TO FIND OUT THE SEX?:
Yes Yes Yes. Mostly to prove to everyone that I was right. I knew it was a boy from the beginning.
DUE DATE?:
December 6th, 2009
DID YOU HAVE MORNING SICKNESS?:
I had random sickness. I would get sick at the most random and inconvenient times.
WHAT DID YOU CRAVE?:
Everything. My biggest things were fruits (all of them, including oranges which I am allergic to) and hamburgers, specifically Sonic burgers with cheese.
WHO IRRITATED YOU THE MOST?:
I was really easily irritated when I was pregnant. So everyone.
WHAT WAS YOUR CHILD'S SEX?:
He's a boy
DID YOU WISH YOU HAD THE OPPOSITE SEX OF WHAT YOU WERE GETTING?:
Not at all.
HOW MANY POUNDS DID YOU GAIN THROUGHOUT THE PREGNANCY?:
around 30.
DID YOU HAVE A BABY SHOWER?:
Yes, my mom and sister-in-law threw one for me
WAS IT A SURPRISE OR DID YOU KNOW?:
I knew.
DID YOU HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS DURING YOUR PREGNANCY?:
I kept getting really serious bladder and urinary tract infections that kept causing me to have contractions.
WHERE DID YOU GIVE BIRTH?:
In a hospital. ;)
HOW MANY HOURS WERE YOU IN LABOR?:
I was in labor for 15 hours
WHO DROVE YOU TO THE HOSPITAL?:
Matt did the morning of my induction
WHO WATCHED YOU GIVE BIRTH?:
Other than my doctor and the nurses, Matt was the only one allowed in.
WAS IT NATURAL OR C-SECTION:
It was a C-Section, after 15 hours of labor he wouldn't budge.
DID YOU TAKE MEDICINE TO EASE THE PAIN?:
YES I DID
HOW MUCH DID YOUR CHILD WEIGH??:
He was 8lbs 5oz
DID YOUR CHILD HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS???:
He had a little trouble breathing in the beginning, but I was told that was totally normal for C-Section babies because they don't go through the "big squeeze" to help push the fluids out of their lungs.
WHAT DAY WAS YOUR CHILD ACTUALLY BORN ON?:
He was born on Monday, November 23rd, 2009
WHAT DID YOU NAME HIM/HER?:
Matthew Dakota

HOW OLD IS YOUR FIRST BORN TODAY?:
He is almost 4 and a half!!!

The Procrastinating Beauty Blogger Tag

Hey Guys! So searching for beauty tags I ran across this one on Beauty Broadcast. It seemed like a lot of fun and had some good questions, so I thought why not! Here we go!

1. Name a beauty regime that you rarely do?
I rarely ever brush my hair! I comb it when I am in the shower and brush it maybe once a week. I just have never seen the need to brush it too much. I get all the tangles out when I com it in the shower.

2. Is washing your make-up brushes something that you do regularly?
Oh sadly, no. I really need to get in a better routine of washing them!

3. How long will you last with chipped nail polish?
A long time, which is why I rarely actually paint my nails.

4. How long will you put off buying/replacing a beauty product, even if you need it?
I usually have enough backup of products that I don't need to worry about it. :)

5. What is your worst beauty habit?
Hmmm...I would probably say that I touch my face way too much and I wash my hair too often.

6. Name something non-beauty related that you put off doing all the time?
Probably running errands!

7. When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready to the last minute?
Typically, I am ready really early.

8. Can you commit to spending bans?
I can, but I try not to put bans on it. I just limit my spending.

9. How organized is your make-up and nail polish collections?
My makeup is very organized. My nail polish definitely needs some work.

Would You Rather?

Hey Guys! Today I decided to do the Would You Rather Tag. I found this on Emily Noel's blog and thought it would be fun to do. Let's get started!!

1. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?

I feel like I would rather lose all of my shadows and palettes. Even though I have more shadows than anything else, and they are my favorites in my collection, I feel like I would look more decent with everything else and no shadow.

2. Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

I would rather never cut it again. Even though I know it would be a hot mess, I just couldn't imagine cutting it all off.

3. Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

I would definitely say pink. I'm not even sure I own a coral shadow. (Which needs to change!) I think the pink looks really good on my complexion.

4. If you had $1,000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

Absolutely makeup! I thought maybe spend it on a few high end pieces and nothing else, but I'm not so sure. I may spend half on drugstore items I really want and the rest on some high end items.

5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?

Obviously I would prefer eye liner as lipstick. There are some good colors that would work and the consistency would be right.

6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

I have never shopped at either place! I would rather shop at Ulta or a drugstore.

7. Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?

I would rather use one lip color. I am trying to branch out on my lip colors, but I tend to like the same ones. Eye shadows are totally different. I love, love, love, changing up my eye shadow colors. I couldn't imagine wearing the same color every day.

8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in the summer or summer clothes in the winter?

Definitely summer clothes in the winter. I get hot very easily, but not cold very easily. I would miss my sweaters, but just because I like them, not because they really keep me warm.

9. Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

Bright nails! I really love doing bright colors on my fingernails. Now if we are talking about toenails, I would say dark.

10. Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?

Again, my eye products are really my favorites. I would easily give up my lip products for my eye products. Except if we are talking about my whole makeup collection over my eye products like in question 1.

11. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?

Definitely a ponytail. I have a really hard time getting my messy buns to look good.

12. Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?

Paint my nails. I actually rarely paint my nails (they chip too much at work).

13. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or Sharpie them in everyday?

OMG! I would look horrible with no brows, but there is no way I would draw them on with Sharpie.

14. Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?

Like I said before, I would much rather have my makeup than my nail polish. Super easy decision.

Makeup New Year's Resolution Tag

Hey Guys! I know we are approaching mid-month, but I saw this tag on Kristen Gehm's channel and figured it would be fun. I would have filmed this but I am not quite in a good enough state to film. I tag you all to do this either in type or video! Hope you enjoy.

1. What is a technique you've improved on during the past year?
Honestly, I have improved with makeup overall.

2. What is your overall most used makeup product this year?
I can't think of one specific product that I used more than any other.

3. What brand would you like to try in the coming year?
I really want to try out more L'Oreal. I feel like I haven't used much of their products at all.

4. Are there any products that you want to use up this year?
There are several :) I really would love to hit pan on a few.

5. Favorite winter activity and what do you wear and how do you do your makeup for it?
I really don't have a favorite one. Winter time is our snuggle time, then we do a ton of activities the rest of the year.

6. What is one bad makeup habit that you want to break in the coming year?
I really can't think of one

7. Favorite clothing to keep warm and dry in the winter?
I honestly don't get cold very easily, but I love my sweaters.

I did :) I wore a CG jumbo balm but not sure which color.
10. What is your best Best New Year's Eve memory?
Hmmm... I can't really think of one...

11. What was the best thing that happened to you this year?
We built our family up and made it stronger :)

12. Describe the year 2013 in 3 words.
stressful, blessed, exhausting

13. What activity hobby are you finally going to take up in 2014?
Cosmotology.

14. Hypothetically, you win the lottery in 2014. If you could donate to any charity in 2014 which charity is dear to you and why?
I would donate to Angel Blanket Ministries. I know all donations go straight to blessing others, and they have blessed my son and I.

14. What food or beverage are you going to give up in 2014? What food or beverage are you finally going to try in 2014?
I plan on cutting back on fast food, but not totally cutting anything out. And I am willing to try just about anything.

15. If you could have one of your dreams come true for 2014, what would it be and why?
For my shoulder to be healed!
